Getting Started With the Alarm.com App
Learn how to sign in, check your system’s status, and arm or disarm your security system using the Alarm.com mobile app. If you have not received a welcome letter, please contact our officeto get setup.
Getting started
The Alarm.com app lets you manage your security system from your phone or tablet. You can view the current status of your system, arm or disarm it, manage user codes, and control connected devices.
Make sure you have your Alarm.com username and password available. These credentials are created when your online account is activated.
Signing in to Alarm.com
- Open the Alarm.com app on your phone or tablet.
- Enter the username associated with your Alarm.com account.
- Enter your password.
- Select Log In.
If you have forgotten your password, select the password recovery option on the login screen and follow the instructions.
Arming your security system
From the app’s home screen, select the security system card. Choose the arming mode that matches how you plan to use the system.
Arm Stay
Use Arm Stay when people will remain inside the home. Exterior doors and windows are protected while designated interior motion detectors remain inactive.
Arm Away
Use Arm Away when everyone is leaving. This typically activates both perimeter devices and interior motion detectors.
Disarming your security system
Open the Alarm.com app and select the security system card. Choose Disarm and complete any verification requested by the app.
Do not share your account password or security codes with anyone who does not need access to your system.
Checking your system’s status
The security card on the app’s home screen shows whether your system is armed or disarmed. It may also display open sensors, recent activity, or conditions that require attention.
Troubleshooting
If the app does not display the expected system status, confirm that your phone has an internet connection and refresh the app.
